Simple Day-to-Day Life Hacks for a Healthy Mind
Daily routine can sometimes be exhausting, burnt milk boils, utensils flying in the kitchen, kids screaming at the top of their voice, hard door bangs are common visuals in our households. These often lead to stress, loss of concentration and can have a direct effect on the way how we carry ourselves for the rest of the day. Unknowingly, these can have effects on health and more importantly can impact others around us.
To make every day more fulfilling here are some simple hacks:
- Easier ways to avoid stress and win arguments: Practice Silence and start listening
Active Listening often wins you half the war at an argument. Most of the times the person on the other side is just wanting to vent out his/her feelings. One of the worst things we often do is trying to explain a point during an argument. It can prove to be unsuccessful most of the times. Remaining silent and expressing your point sometime later will allow the other person to listen and understand.
- Best way to de-stress: Doing the thing you like the most
It can be as silly as having a Masala dosa or even a cup of coffee, listening to music or reading a book. If you know to drive..why waiting..just get on your wheels. These little things have a deep impact on our lives and have always associated us to happier times or peaceful times all these while. So, it has the capacity to enlighten us and detach us completely from what we are into.
- Don’t push yourself hard
There can be days where you feel the extra energy and there also can be days where you might feel like having a nap for those extra 'mins'. Go ahead and do it. Unless you are training to achieve a feat, there is no need to push yourself hard at anything. It can be extremely draining and the extra little nap can make your day. It is always ok to leave things the way it is. Sometimes IMPERFECT is also PERFECT.
- Express your feelings
One of the hardest things with our upbringing is we have been taught to follow or do whatever is being asked to do. Not many times, a person on the other side can understand what you have been going through. When you don’t express your feelings or emotions it forms an emotional barrier around and can create mental blocks which can make you more stressed. Always share with the people around you who you feel can understand and communicate your language. It gives a great relief and also gives you a chance to form an emotional bond with the other person.
- Practice a daily routine
Aristotle famously quotes " We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit". Having "NO" routine or structure can be draining physically, mentally and emotionally. There is a common belief that if we follow a routine for 21 continuous days and it becomes a habit. It can bring consistency to our schedules and can help manage your time and day in a better way. This can also help accomplish excellence and maximize yourself on every level possible.
- Try the Spiritual Way
Practicing Yoga or Meditation can be relaxing or it can even be as simple as chanting your favorite mantras or allocating a 15 mins in your day's schedule to think about the things which can give you happiness and peace can bring joy. Simply close your eyes and feel the silence around and you will realize it's MAGIC.
Do you follow a daily routine. Please share in the comments below.
