Who Am I?

"Life is a treasure and you are so much more than you know"

A loving father, an affectionate mother, a doting spouse, mischievous brother, caring friend, a student, job title printed on the business card or a Jackie Chan Movie name and so on. These are the popular answers we would usually associate with, if the question "Who Am I" is posed to a group. Hang on.. Just ask yourself this question this very moment you are reading and what would be your answer. It most likely fits into one of those mentioned in the beginning.

If you have not encountered with this question yet, then each of us should give it a thought to introspect deep within. This is such an unique question which could possibly lead us to associate as multiple identities instead of revealing the actual answer.

Most of us on this planet are so absorbed to the Wifi signals around us without realizing that signal strength of Username SELF has been either "Weak" or may even have been "disconnected". Each one of us tend to have a lighter side and a darker one. The lighter side is one which we project to the outside world and the darker side is known only to 'SELF'. How many of us even remember sitting quiet for some time in a day’s life to give it a thought about MY SELF. The daily hustle bustle in life allows to travel to different places and Google maps comes to the rescue if the location is unknown. If we do not know the route to find ourselves deep within, here is the map to find out more - Self Discovery.

Come new year and we sign up for so many resolutions to an extent, that even the kirana shop at your street corner has a plan to trap you. Have we ever wondered about asking the most important questions about us – Is it worth of me running so hard in life, Am I connected to MYSELF, Am I happy deep within,  Am I doing the right thing which will lead me to where I want to be in my life.  Am I satisfied at the end of the day when I get back to sleep?  Is there a need to revisit my fears, limitations and look out for specific patterns which emerge. Just like the identities we associate, each of us must understand what really drives us or stops us as an individual. Is that money, materialism, relationships, recognition, accomplishment, etc.,

When we ask these questions and retrospect, the answers would probably lead us to “WHO AM I” – which no longer is an identity, but a process for SELF Discovery which connects us to a greater sense of purpose in life, the very reason why I’m alive today. The path to SELF discovery should be just like those diagnostic tests we take up at regular intervals to ensure we are in safe health. We always should have a REVISIT and RECYCLE button in life which when pressed allow us to let in fresh thoughts and ideas. There can be something which motivated you a while back and it is not necessary the same thing would be driving you anymore. Expectations and Aspirations can change and so should be the process and related goals.

Be prepared to venture into the Unknown and don’t cling on to the shores of a harbor where there is no more life left. Be ready to Move on. It’s time to break the shackles of materialistic possessions around and find the real “SELF”.

Live the Moment. Whatever Happens, Life must Move on.
